Remote or not remote? An unanswered CEO discussion

Is the trend of working from home really over? Judging by the statements of major employers (Apple, Walt Disney) or the emotional posts on LinkedIn, for example, you might think so.

In reality, however, the picture is different: many job advertisements now mention and welcome working from home as part of the work organization. And many DAX companies see mobile working and working from home as a means of increasing productivity (Frankfurter Rundschau). The website statista.de writes: "In a survey conducted in August 2022, only 29% of respondents said that mandatory presence in the office was a binding work rule in their company.

What was a home office during the pandemic has now become a trend toward flexibility and agile work organization. Employees concentrate on office work at home and meet at the company for workshops and meetings.

For ONGO®, this situation represents both an opportunity and a challenge.

Opportunity: During the pandemic, employees working from home realized that their current infrastructure was not sufficient. Sitting at the family table for days on end is no longer an option. There is a need for agile, unobtrusive home office solutions. As you know, ONGO® has a lot to offer.

In companies, the trend towards agile working means that employees no longer need a fixed workstation, but meet primarily for workshops, discussions and meetings. The ONGO® range also meets this need perfectly. Challenge: It is not yet entirely clear how these trends will develop in the medium term. We at ONGO® assume that agile working is indispensable for the younger generation, meaning that the trend will consolidate and become established. However, new forms of collaboration will emerge - for example, open spaces that different companies use together or more temporarily rented spaces for projects. The corresponding agile infrastructure must also be available for this and new products will be needed.

The organization and forms of work and collaboration are constantly evolving. This requires us to work together: employers, employees, architects and designers!
