How corona is changing our work
Hybrid working models have been an integral part of the working world since coronavirus at the latest. Researchers in Stuttgart have now investigated who benefits from this and what will be important in the future. An article from the Stuttgarter Zeitung.
After almost two years of the pandemic, one thing is clear - coronavirus has permanently changed the world of work. In a new study, the Frauenhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO) has investigated what companies think about flexible working and what working models employees want. The Stuttgarter Zeitung has compiled and answered the most important questions.
One clear finding of the researchers is that the future belongs to hybrid working models. The mix of working from home and on-site at the company, as well as more flexible working time models, have become established among both employees and companies over the past two years. In principle, a large number of employees still want to be able to work from home. The majority prefer to work from home for two or three days a week. This flexibility has become an integral part of the working world.
The University of St. Gallen and Barmer Ersatzkasse have investigated a related question. What impact does the increasingly digital and more flexible world of work have on the well-being of employees? The question of how hybrid working models can affect employee performance and what challenges this entails are also issues that companies need to address.
And every change also requires new skills - both from employees and from the companies themselves. More freedom and flexibility requires more personal responsibility and better self-management.
An extremely readable summary by the Stuttgarter Zeitung on the most important issues relating to the changes and challenges of today's working world.
